Stock Firmware

To quickly get started with the virtual devices Arm Virtual Hardware provides stock firmware examples - ready-to-use program images stored on the AVH server.

Stock firmware demonstrates key features of the platforms such as OS boot, interaction with console, reading sensors and connectivity. Device-specific sections in Supported Platforms explain the stock firmware available for the virtual devices.

Choose a Stock Firmware

You can choose the stock firmware when creating a new virtual device. On the Configure your device screen in the drop-down menu Select an example firmware you can select the target stock firmware that the virtual board instance shall run. You can also download the corresponding stock firmware package by clicking on the Source image link.

Stock Firmware Format

Stock firmware is packaged in the same format as explained in Linux Firmware Packages and (/devices/firmware/mcu-firmware), and can be used as a reference for your custom firmware.
